State Bank of Travancore



State Bank of Travancore (SBT) was a public sector bank in India that was headquartered in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. It was a subsidiary of the State Bank of India (SBI) and was established in 1945.

SBT offered a range of banking and financial services including personal banking, corporate banking, NRI banking, SME banking, and agricultural banking. The personal banking services offered by the bank included savings accounts, current accounts, fixed deposits, loans, credit cards, and digital banking services. The bank also provided various insurance and investment products.

However, in 2017, SBT was merged with its parent company, State Bank of India, as part of the government's plan to consolidate the country's banking sector. After the merger, SBT ceased to exist as a separate entity, and its operations were integrated with those of State Bank of India.

The State Bank of India, which is the largest public sector bank in India, continues to offer a comprehensive range of banking and financial services to its customers.

State Bank of Travancore (SBT) was originally established as Travancore Bank Ltd. in 1945 sponsored by the erstwhile Princely State of Travancore. Under a special statute of the Indian Parliament (SBI subsidiary Banks Act 1959) it has been made an Associate of the State Bank of India and a member of the State Bank Group, the largest banking group in India.
