People visiting Payyoli will never fail to visit the Trikkottur Perumalpuram Temple, which is located close to the Payyoli Government High School, Perumalpuram in Kozhikode District. Ardent followers of lord Shiva will never fail to visit the temple during their visit.
The temple is managed by a temple committee. The temple dates back to the period of the Perumal Kings, who were Shaivites. Akhalapuzha River flows near to this temple. The sub deities enshrined are Lord Ganesh, Lord Krishna, Lord Dakshinamurthy, and Lord Ayyappa. Daily pujas and offerings are held and an annual festival is also conducted.
The Trikkottur temple can be approached easily as it is situated beside the National Highway NH 17 running between Vadakara and Quilandy. Buses run daily from various towns and there is a bus stop in front of the Payyoli High School. Payyoli Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
