The Information & Public Relations Department (I & PRD) is the nodal agency of the Government of Kerala for disseminating information on various activities of the Government to the people through the media and providing feedback to the Government on important matters reflected in the media.

With the limited resources it continued to play an effective role in helping the people to have access to free flow of information. Most of the cultural programmes and official language activities are organized and administered by this department.

The Director of Pubic Relations is assisted by an Additional Director, three Deputy Directors at the Headquarters and six Regional Deputy Directors viz. Kollam, Ernakulam, Kozhikode, Kottayam, Thrissur and Kannur. The District Information Officer is in charge of a District Information Office attached to each collectorate. There are 14 District Information Offices and one Kerala Information Centre at New Delhi.
