Hermann-Gundert-Society



The Hermann-Gundert-Society was founded in connection with the Hermann Gundert Conference, which was held in Stuttgart in May 1993 on the one hundredth anniversary of Hermann Gundert's death.

The occasion saw the publication of Gundert's diaries, many sources of information on his life and work and also his Malayalam texts.

Projects organised by the Hermann-Gundert-Society includes :

* The first conference seminar for Dravidian languages
* Seminars on colonial history
* Seminar "Jewish Malayalam Songs from Kochi - Cultural Heritage of South West India"
* Publications about Hermann Gundert and his milieu in English, German, and Malayalam
* Seminar "Women in Indian Society" June 2004.
* Seminar "Murals of Northern Kerala" July 2004.
* Perfomance of Kathakali dance by Isa Jacobi 2004.
