Raw Plantain Thoran

Raw Plantain Thoran is a very tasty dish made in Kerala homes. Ingredients Raw Plantain - 1/4 kg (thinly sliced into cubes) Desicated Coconut - 1 cup Green Chillies - 2 (sliced lengthwise) Garlic flakes - 2 Curry Leaves - 1 spring Dry Red Chillies - 2 nos(cut into pieces) Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp Black gram (Uzhunthu parippu) - 1 tsp Coconut Oil - 2 tsp Salt - as required Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp Method Cook the raw plantain in water adding salt, turmeric powder and water. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and black gram and allow them to splutter. Add curry leaves and dry red chillies and fry them for a minute. Add the cooked plantain to this. Crush the desicated coconut, garlic and green chillies. Add the coconut mix to the raw plantain and mix them well until all the water is gone.
