Kathrikka Koottu

Kathrikka Koottu - Goes well with rice. Ingredients 1. Brinjals - 1/2 kg 2. Moong Dal - 100g 3. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp 4. Chilly Powder - 1 tsp 5. Jaggery - 2 tsp 6. Tamarind - 1 lemon size 7. Coconut - 1 8. Channa Dal - 4 tsp 9. Urad Dal - 2 tsp 10. Asafoetida - 1 tsp 11. Red Dry chilly - 10 12. Curry leaves - 2 springs Method Clean the moong dal and fry it for some time and cook with water for some time. Cut brinjal into small pieces and add them to the moong dal and cook for some more time. Make tamarind paste and add it. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, jaggery, and salt to this and cook. Pour some oil into the kadai and add coconut along with asafoetida, urad dal, chana dal, dry red chillies and fry till brown. Grind the coconut mixture to a paste with out adding water. Add the coconut paste to the curry and boil for some time. Add Coconut oil and curry leaves and serve.
