Sree Sankara College, Kalady

The College, named after the great saint-philosopher Adi Sankara, is situated on a hillock in Kalady renowned for its sylvan beauty and hallowed by the birth of Great Acharya.

The institution had a humble beginning in 1954, with a student-strength of about 250, offering a few intermediate courses. College was raised to the status of a first grade college in the state and has now reached covetable heights of academic excellence offering 14 UG courses, 8 PG courses and two centres for Doctoral Research in Economics and Commerce. the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, a statutory body of UGC, has conferred Four Star Status on the college.

This college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and included under Sec. 2(f) let/ and 12(B) of the U.G.C Act. It now gives instruction in various subjects of Arts, Science and Commerce and prepares students for B.A.; B. Sc.; M. Com.; M. A.; and M. Sc.; Degree Examinations of the Mahatma Gandhi University.
