Rahman is an Indian film actor in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films.

He was considered as one of the superstars in Malayalam cinema in 1980s.

He has acted in more than 150 films. He acted in the films of reputed directors and acted along with great artists.Rahman has featured alongside Mammootty and Mohanlal together in about seven films, and each of them was very successful.

Rahman's native place is in Nilambur, Malapuram dist, Kerala. Rahman is married to Mehrunnisa. The couple have two children, Rushda and Alisha. Rahman is the brother in-law of Oscar winner Music Director A. R. Rahman.
