College of Forestry, Vellanikkara, Thrissur
The College of Forestry is located about 10 km east of Thrissur.The College of Forestry under the Faculty of Agriculture was originally headed by an Associate Dean. The College offers a four-year degree programme in Forestry.
The faculty of Forestry and later the College of Forestry under the Faculty of Agriculture was originally headed by a Special Officer.
B.Sc. (Forestry) Programme and M.Sc. (Forestry) programme are offered here. The College laboratories are reasonably well equipped. In addition to the UG and PG laboratories, separate laboratories for silviculture, tree tissue culture, tree propagation, wood science, agroforestry, tree physiology and wildlife are established. A Forestry Museum also is maintained in the College depicting the major features and findings of the College.
