College of Fisheries, Panangad, Ernakulam

College of Fisheries, Panangad is the third Fisheries College in the country. The College of Fisheries was established in the year 1979 under the Faculty of Fisheries of the Kerala Agricultural University.

The four year bachelors degree programme in fisheries leading to B.F.Sc. degree. The College is situated at Panangad, near Kochi.

Fisheries faculty is divided into seven departments, viz. Aquaculture, Fishery Biology, Processing Technology, Fishery Hydrography, Fishing Technology, Fishery Engineering and Management Studies. Various courses, both at U.G., P.G. and Ph.D. level are offered by these departments.

In addition to the Bachelor degree programme, Masters degree (M.F.Sc.) programmes with specialisations in Aquaculture, Fishery Biology, Processing Technology and Fisheries Extension are also available in this college.
