Traditional Kerala Vegetarian Dishes -> Kathirikka Curd Thalichathu 

 
  Kathirikka Curd Thalichathu is a special curd curry preparation.

 

Ingredients:


1.Brinjal Sliced into 4 - 300 g
2. Coconut Oil - 100 ml
3. Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
Ginger Sliced long - 15 g
Green chillies sliced at the bottom legthwise - 5
Garlic sliced long - 4 flakes
4. Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
5. Grated Coconut - 1
Jeera - 1/2 tsp
6. Curd Beaten nicely - 1 cup
Salt - as required
7. Coconut Oil - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chillies - 4
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp

Kathirikka Curd Thalichathu

Method:

Grind the grated coconut with Jeera and keep aside. In the hot coconut oil, fry the brinjal pieces.Brinjal


In the remaining oil, add fenugreek seeds, and fry the other three items in the third set of ingredients.


Add turmeric and chilli powder with this and mix well. Add Coconut paste along with this.


Mix the fried Brinjal pieces in this coconut mixture and switch off the burner.


After 5 minutes, add curd and salt and mix well.


Fry Mustard seeds and dry red chillies in coconut oil and add it to the Curd Curry.


Serve with Rice.
