Kochi Style Fish Curry is a good fish preparation from Ernakulam
district of Kerala.

Ingredients:
Any Big Fish - 1/2 kg
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red Chilly powder - 2 tsp
Ginger - 1" piece
Coconut - 1/2 of a coconut
Green Chilly - 3 (split length wise)
Small Onions - 10
Coconut Oil - 100g
Kumkum Star (Kudum Puli) - 4 pieces
Curry leaves - 2 stems
Water - 2 and a half cup
Salt - as to taste |

Method:
Grind coconut to a fine paste. Grind the turmeric and red chilly powder
seperately.
Grind ginger also separately. Crush the small onions also.
When the oil gets heat up in a mud kadai, add the crushed onions and fry
for some time.
Add the grinded turmeric-chilly powders and ginger to this and saute for
some more time.
Add the green chillies and curry leaves also t this and saute.
Add the grinded coconut and saute until oil seperates.
Add the kumkum star, water and salt, boil the mixture.
When the curry starts boiling add the fish pieces to this and cook on low
flame until the gravy thickens.
