Kannur International Airport
Kannur International Airport will be a major catalyst for growth of tourism in Kerala, especially in north Kerala.
The proposal for the development of the Kannur International Airport received in principle clearance from the Ministry of Civil Aviation in February 2008. Government of Kerala is now in the process of floating a company for the development of the airport.
The techno economic feasibility project envisages to be approximately Rs.1000 crores for the airport. When completed, Kannur airport would be the fourth international airport in the State after Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode.
Kannur International Airport will be a great help for Gulf Malayalies. The Kannur International Airport will have a massive impact on the development of North Malabar. An International Airport at Kannur with international standards of safety and comfort is the aim of the government.
