Kamal

Kamal is a well-known Indian film director, writer, and producer who works mainly in the Malayalam film industry. He was born on November 28, 1957, in Thrissur, Kerala. Kamal started his film career as an assistant director to the famous filmmaker Padmarajan. He made his directorial debut in 1986 with the Malayalam film "Mizhineerpoovukal". He has directed over 40 films in his career, including "Perumazhakkalam", "Karutha Pakshikal", "Celluloid", and "Aami".

Kamal is known for his unique style of filmmaking, which blends social realism with artistic and aesthetic elements. He was the eldest of three sons born to his parents K M Abdul Majeed and his wife Sulaikhabi. Kamal married his uncle’s daughter Saburabi; they were blessed by, a daughter Hanna Kamal and a son Januse Mohammed.

Starting with Mizhineer Pookkal in 1986, he has directed more than 32 movies, among which the latest being Manjupoloru Penkutty and Perumazhakalam. His array of Movies include two non-Malayalam movies one each in Tamil and Hindi.
