Madurai Meenakshi Sundareshwarar Temple is many centuries old and one of the most famous hindu temple in india dedicated to Lord Siva and godess Parvathi.

The temple is surrounded by 12 towers. Thousand pillar hall is another attraction.

The Meenakshi Amman Temple is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, known as Meenakshi, and her consort, Shiva, here known as Sundareswarar. Meenakshi Amman Temple forms the heart of the 2500 year old Madurai city.

The annual 10-day Meenakshi Tirukalyanam festival is celebrated during April and May and this festival attracts a million visitors every year.
