Konni Aanakoodu / Elephant Training Center at Konni in Pathanamthitta District of Kerala has many elephants under various levels of training, an elephant museum, craft shop, medicinal plants nursery.

There are huge cages for the Elephants and these cages are known as 'Aanakoodu' in Malayalam. The trainers train the baby elephants, who are found lost or separated from their herds, wounded etc.

The museum housed near the elephant cages gives a lot of information about elephants. The instruments the mahouts use to train and keep the elephants under control are exhibited here along with descriptions about elephants, its life span, its anatomy, food habits etc.

The museum also has a sound and picture display system which entertains the visitors with sounds of various birds and animals in the forest.

Konni Elephant training centre dates back to 1810 AD, but the present structure was built in 1942. The elephant training centre functions as an elephant welfare centre too. Visitors can have a closer look at the elephants here.

One can have a ride on the top of elephants here at specified times. Konni Aanokoodu is a popular tourist destination now.
