Chattakkari is remake of the 1974 classic 'Chattakkari' directed by K S Sethumadhavan. The remake is to be directed by his son Santhosh Sethumadhavan.

G Suresh Kumar produces the film under the banner Revathy Kalamandir. He produced the movies Neelathamara and Rathinirvedam, both remakes and were big hits.

Hemanth of Living Together and Dr.Love fame will be the hero, while Poorna aka Shamna Kasim will play the female lead. In the original, the leading pair was Mohan and Lakshmi.
