Bekal Fort is an old fort in Kasargod with tunnels, water tanks, observation tower etc. The fort is built up from the sea. Almost three forth of the Bekal Fort exteriors are drenched in sea.

Bekal Fort was built in a strategic location as one can have a good view of the sea and also the near by towns from the fort.

Bekal Fort is believed to be built for defense purposes as there as no palaces or mansions in the fort. There are many holes on the walls of the fort for aiming at the enemy during calamities.

The fort is a very popular tourist destination in the Kasargod district.

Sivappa Nayaka of Bednore constructed the Bekal Fort in 1650AD.
