Payippad Vallom Kali / Paippad Boat Race Photos.

Payippad Boat Race is one of the oldest boat races in Kerala and is closely associated with Haripad Subrahmanya Swami Temple.

Most of the Snake Boats or Chundan Valloms that take part in the Nehru Trophy Boat Race at the Punnamada Backwaters, also participates in Payippad Boat Race like the Karichal Chundan, Anari Chundan, Cheruthana Chundan, Vellamkulangara Chundan, Payippad Chundan, Ayaparampu Valiya Diwanji Chundan etc.

Vanjippattu or Boat Songs are sung by the Ore men during the Vallom Kali.
