Onam is the most important festival for Malayalis in Kerala and other parts of the world. Onam, celebrated in the first Malayalam Month of Chingam.

Traditionally, Onam is celebrated as a harvest festival. People of Kerala celebrate Onam with great pop and con by making Pookalams, preparing grand feast with Payasams.

Boat Races or Vallom Kali is an important sport during Onam Festival. There are many other games like Pulikali during Onam Festival.
