IG is an action thriller Malayalam film directed by B. Unnikrishnan. The film is a hit in the year 2009.

Suresh Gopi is going up in ranks each time. From police constable to SI, from CI to IPS officer and now as IG.

Suresh Gopi’s character in the film is an inspiration from the much respected ATS chief Hemant Karkare, who probed the Malagou Blasts.

The film is based on terrorism and its roots in Kerala. Film deals with how youth from Kerala are trained by LET in Pakistan and sent to be fidayeen.

Unnikrishanan is back with the trigger happy Suresh Gopi once again and presented him the role of IG.
