Banaras is a Malayalam film starring Vineeth and Kavya Madhavan in the lead roles. The film is an off-beat love story which gives importance to music. The story unfolds in the backdrop of the pilgrim centres in Varanasi.

The story revolves round Hari who comes to Banaras to do research on the subject of folk-dances at the Banaras Hindu University. He meets Amritha, who is doing her post-graduation in Classical Dances. Hari and Amritha get close to each other very soon. Vineeth plays the role of Hari while Kavya Madhavan adorns the role of Amritha.

The other importance cast members include Navya Nair, Jagathy Sreekumar, Nedumudi Venu, Devan, Bineesh Kodiyeri, Harisree Asokan, Suraj Vejaramoodu.

There are lots of things good about the movie Banaras, but there’s nothing that is extraordinary. The songs are good. Banaras, isn’t very impressive but is not too bad also.
