Yodha 2 starting from where it ended

It seems to be the season for sequels in the Kerala film industry. Classic film In Harihar Nagar’s sequel, To Harihar Nagar wasn’t even a memorable flick but has garnered great success. This stupendous success has made the makers to think of third part.

Buzz is Yodha too is having a sequel.

Yodha has been one of the hilarious flicks featuring Mohanlal and Jagathy Sreekumar. The film was set in Nepal and had a theme of Buddhist myths and was directed by Sangeeth Sivan in 1992. For the original, Santosh Sivan was the cameraman and AR Rahman scored the music.

Yodha was also a movie that had many creative dots as it passed through myth and reality while poking into the life of Lamas. Some resemblances here with Hollywood classic Terminator.

Madhubala played female lead and Puneeth Issar was the villain. Other important artistes in the film included Urvashi, Oduvil Unnikrishnan, Meena and MS Tripunithara.

Sangeeth Sivan, who is flirting with Bollywood, is on a come back mood to the Malayalam industry through this sequel. The director is planning to kick off the sequel from the point where the prequel ended.

Mohanlal has allocated dates for the movie.

In the sequel being planned, Mohanlal, Jagathy Sreekumar, Urvashi will be repeated. Puneet Issar, who had assayed the villain's role, will also be seen in the sequel. This big budget movie is expected to team in Lakshmi Rai as heroine for the sequel, whereas Urvashi and Madhubala had played the heroines in Yodha.

YODHA 2 is having Harris Jayaraj as music composer. This project will mark his debut in Malayalam. Santhosh Sivan would wield the camera. Other technicians are to be finalized soon.

Viewers hope Mohanlal Jagathy duo to be able to rekindle the laughs with this sequel and the flick to turns out to be bigger and better.
