Robin Hood Review

Robin Hood is a regular film with enough twists, glitz, glamour, songs and fights from the commercial big gun Joshi. It’s astonishing that this man is so updated that he has clasp over the pulsating rhythm of youth.

Venkitesh Iyer (Prithviraj) is a tutor at an engineering coaching centre who is also an ATM robber who attacks only IBI Bank. Abirami (Samvritha) one of his student has crush on him which later proves to have no relevance in the film. Alexander Felix (Narien) gets assigned as private eye for the Bank to find the modus operandi of loot and to explain a defense mechanism to prevent the robbery. Bhavana comes as the system head for the bank. She stays with Narien in Bank’s guest house.

How Alexander Felix tries to catch the robber and what happens there after is what the Robinhood is about.

Biju Menon gives a refreshing performance as the bad guy. Jayasurya as ACP is ok and doesn’t have a big role. Though the film doesn’t have concrete believability it can be left aside as this is a commercial flick and it is successful in that front.

The story writers have tailored script to create successful flick. Robinhood is a story of intrigue, suspense, money, revenge told with enough romantic backup. This mouse and cat story may attribute influence to Dhoom series films.

Prithviraj is himself while Narien scores as an actor portraying the character of cool investigator. Samvritha’s role is forgettable and Bhavana is ok.

Cinematography by Shaji and editing by Ranjan Abraham is apt for the flick.
Joshiy the director for all ages proves again. As many of his successful films this film too lacks a heart. That vacuum is filled with business interest. The packaging attracts youth.

Songs are created attractively. Title graphics are ok.

Anantha Vision, the Midas in the block will generate profit from this flick too.
Not a bad flick you can watch, don’t expect anything unusual.
