Shaji Azeez is to make independent debut with film Oridathoru Postman starring Kunchako Bobban, Innocent, Meera Nandan and Neelathamara fame Archana Kavi. To give them a strong backing Kalabhavan Mani, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salim Kumar, Bijukuttan and Jaffer Idukki are present. The chief attraction of the film will be Tamil star Sarath Kumar.

This will be Saratkumar's third film in Malayalam after Pazhassi Raja and Joshie's Multi starrer Christian Brothers. Sarath Kumar plays the character Yasin Mubarak, a wild life photographer in this film. Sarath had been approached by many directors after the success of Pazhassi Raja, but he shied away from all the projects. Sarath acted in this film as he was highly impressed by the subject which he considers to be very serious as well as relevant.

The movie narrates a village based humorous story about the instances in the life of a lazy postman and the relation with a father and son. OP has started shooting in Thodupuzha. The script is by K Gireesh Kumar, who scripted flicks like Veruthe Oru Bharya and Samasthakeralam P O. Anand Balakrishnan wields the camera while the music is composed by Mohan Sithara with Anil Panachooran writing the lyrics.

Earlier Ananya of Naadodigal fame was to star in this flick. Ananya will be back in a Malayalam film directed by Padmakumar. In that film she will play Mohanlal's daughter.

Shaji with Shaiju Anthikkad had earlier made debut as directors with the movie Shakespeare M.A Malayalam. Shaiju turned independent with the movie Oru Black And White Kudumbam which made average return for producer.

Shaji and Basheer Silsila will produce Oridathoru Postman under the banner Nila Creations.
