Mammootty finished Jayaraj's Loud Speaker and has wrapped up Ranjith's Palery Manickyam – Oru Pathira kolapathakathinte Katha.

In the second week of September the star's Production Company Playhouse will start the shoot of Chattambinaadu which is directed by Shafi.

Prithviraj who proved to be a solo hero with the success of Puthiya Mugham will be seen as Mammootty’s brother in Pollachi Raja. Debutant Vaishak will be the director.This is the second time Prithvi is getting a chance to share the screen space with Mammootty.

Mammootty would be teaming up with Shaji Kailas after a gap of nine years. A.K. Sajan would pen the script. He would also appear in the Lal Jose directed story in Kerala Cafe.

B. Unnikrishnan will be directing the Megastar in Pramani. News are that it is another version of super hit Madambi. Seenu Sohanlal would pair the star with Nadiya Moidu in Doubles.

Mammootty's much-anticipated Vande Mataram was planned for release this Christmas, but was re scheduled to Pongal. The film is simultaneously being made in Tamil as Aruvadai. Arjun and Sneha are also in the cast.

Pazhassi Raja, Mammootty's other big releases in 2009 is also rescheduled.

His latest release Pattanathil Bootham hasn’t attracted kids. Daddy Cool is giving average returns.
