People other than fans won't give much thought about the stats of filmmakers. Many people may know how many films were directed by Shankar or Maniratnam. But in kerala, audience cares less about film stars and filmmakers. That's were the importance of this director duo, Rafi Mecartin comes to play.

They come from the Siddique Lal school of filmmaking, and can be said superstars in script writing in Malayalam films. Each of their films was hilarious, only one film 'Romeo', had flopped which was directed by Rajasenan.

Rafi Mecartin who has directed one of the biggest hit in Malayalam, Thenkasippattanam, is taking over more than 100 theatres in kerala on 23rd of this month with Mammootty starrer 'Love in Singapore'.

This Mammootty film started shooting in the later side of 2008 and was scheduled to release as the first mammootty film of 2009, which they are doing.

This is Rafi Mecartin's 18th script and their 9th film as directors. Last film Mayavi, directed by Shafi was also a grand success. This is the first time Rafi Mecartin is calling the shot for mega star.

Mammootty plays the role as junk-dealer 'Aakry Machu', who by dint of hard work, rose to financial heights.
Even tough Mumbai model Keerthi Kulhar who features in the Taj Mahal tea advertisement with Saif Ali Khan was considered as heroine, it's Tamil and Telugu actress Navneet Kaur got casted.

Love in Singapore also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Salimkumar, Harishree Ashokan, Rajan P Dev, Lalu Alex, and Nedumudi Venu.

It was shot in Kochi and Karaikudi. A part of the movie was shot at Singapore. The film is produced by Rafi under the banner M.H.M. Productions.

Suresh Peters, who has worked with A.R Rahman and was introduced by Rafi Mecartin in their film Punjabi House, is the music director. Sanjeev Shankar is the cameraman for Love in Singapore. Boban will do the art-direction and Hariharaputhran will be in charge of editing. Love in Singapore is released by Vaishakha Release.

Lyrics are by Rajiv Alungal and Santhosh Varma. There are four songs, which are sung by Jyotsna, Sainora and Alex.

For a Rafi Mecartin film that matter most is the hilarious script, all else are just part of work to put it on the celluloid.

The distributor Vaishaka Rajan has decided to delay the Mohanal starrer 'Red Chillies', with out clear dates. It was planned for the first weeks of January. Film sources gossips that the producer of the movie is not satisfied with the share offered by distributor. Theatres which were charted for Red Chillies will be offered, the Mamootty flick as both films have same distributor.

Preview report suggests this hilarious film would be another hit for the Director Duo.
