Kerala Café is an assortment of 10 movies from 10 different stories of 10 minutes each by 10 filmmakers.

The central event which holds all these shorts together is journey and each story delves on different facets of coeval Malayalee life. Kerala Café, the name of the restaurant featured in the movie has significance in the film.

Directors who are part of the project are Laljose, B Unnikrishnan, Revathy, Shaji Kailas, Shyamprasad, Padmakumar, Uday Ananthan, Anjali Menon and debutante Shankar Ramakrishnan.

Viewers can watch Mammootty in Laljose's part, Prithviraj in Padmakumar's part and Suresh Gopi in Shaji Kailas' part.

Lal Jose’s film is based on C V Sreeraman's novel Puram Kazhchakal.

These kinds of experiments have happened before in foreign languages with films like Paris, Je T'aime and also in Hindi with films like Mumbai Cutting, Dus Kahaniyam.

Shaji Kailas plans a romantic theme to film a story of a man caught between two loving women.

Unnikrishnan has Sidique playing the leads in his films which is about nuclear family getting affected by the recession.

Revathy plans to work on a story on human trafficking with Kalabhavan Mani in the lead and Deedi Damodaran as script writer.

IFFK award winner Anjali Menon is to make a film with Jagathy Sreekumar.

Naseerudin Shah’s daughter Hiba Shah will play the female lead and S. Kumar will wield the camera in debutante Shankar Ramakrishnan’s film.

Renjith who is the producer, designer and promoter of the venture is planning to get the experimental flick into theatres by September.
