Director Sathyan Anthikkad continued with his policy of naming his film a few weeks before its release when the posters are to be printed. This time the flick is named Kadha Thudarunnu.

Katha Thudarunnu is the 50th film by Sathyan Anthikad, who is the mastermind behind many super hit family entertainers, Katha Thudarunnu is heard to be a typical Sathyan film about ordinary people caught in unusual situations and is told in a humorous way.

The story is narrated from the heroine's perspective. Jayaram plays an auto driver named Preman. Mamta plays Vidya, a single mother of a three year old who is deserted by her husband.

Jayaram was the hero of Sathyan's last film Bhagyadevatha, which was a super hit. The two have worked to create several hit films in the past including Mazhavilkkavadi, Thooval Kottaram, Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu, Manassinakkare and Yathrakkarude Sradhakku etc.

Mamta who was not active in Malayalam after she got busy in Tamil and Telugu acting and singing career is back with this film. She is the heroine in Amal Neerad's Anwar, with Prithviraj and Prakash Raj in the main roles.

Venu is the cameraman, lyrics are by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and music composer is Illayaraja.

The shooting of the film, has been completed in Kozhikode. The film is produced by NRI Thankachan Emanuel under the banner of True line Cinema. The movie will be released on April 30, 2010.
