Charulathayude Bakki is an adaptation of a short story written by Priya A.S. with the same title. Priya won the Best Story award for this story by Sahithya Academy.

Amrita (Padmapriya) is an educated lady, who addresses the emotional and social events of a newly-married woman.

Also in the cast are Manian Pillai Raju, Dinesh Panikkar, Vanitha, Sreelatha and Vasantha Kokilam. The film will be cinematographed by Shahnad Jaleel and edited by Manoj.
