Ardhanaari, the film on the life of transgenders, is releasing on November 23, 2012. Ardhanaari is the first production venture of singer and music director M.G. Sreekumar, under the banner M.G.Sound and Frames.

Ardhanaari is the maiden venture of director Santhosh Sowparnika. Hemachandran cranks the camera, while editing is done by Abhilas. Prof V Madhusoodanan Nair and Rajeev Alungal penned the lyrics, for which the music is tuned by M.G. Sreekumar.

Ardhanaari has Manoj K Jayan in the pivotal role. Thilakan, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Sukumari, Mahalakshmi, Sai Kumar, Suraaj Venjaramoodu, Kochupreman, Irshad, Jayakrishnan, Kaviraj, Asha Sarath, Kollam Ajith, Vidyasankar, Sreenath, and Ambika Mohan are also in the cast. Ardhanaari is the last film in which Late Veteran Actor Thilakan acted.
