No one likes to be called in the name of his contemporary but for now director V.K Prakah is Malayali's new Priyadarshan.

Though an Ad filmmaker he hadn't touched the pulse of common audience. Most of his films flopped one after another till he touched the Midas genre, comedy. However some people may argue that any one can make a comedy film, hit. His flick Gulumal was a pleasant one whilst it was inspired from Hindi film Bluff master.

Three Kings is the story of 3 cousins who hate each other and their expedition to riches. Indrajith is the actor who has 2 faces, a happy go lucky comedy face and a serious stone face. In Three Kings he wears the former and takes away the prize. Kunchako is doing his regular stuff and as always, viewers love him. Jayasurya is also marvelous though not miraculous.

Samvritha, Sandya and Ann have done their role which provoked laugher. The usage of stylized English and clubbing it with ignorance are funny. Suraj and Salim Kumar were hilarious as usual. After a long gap Jagathy was able to bring some laughter.

Script writer Y.V Rajesh has shown enormous creativity and has made his work into a comedy classic. The film has made fun of many other films. The director who took up this venture and completed it with such style needs applause. This film though comedy, cannot be compared with seniors which follows a regular pattern of Malayalam films. What makes Three Kings unique is that it has V.K Prakash signature all over it.

The posters which promised comedy have brought people into theatres. The show was almost houseful and people were laughing. The comedies in plane, satirist approach on serials are great.

The film's treatment is in the line of CID Moosa. Special effects are used convincingly. The camera and editing matches the mood.

Some negatives: The climax portion needed to be trimmed more, especially that fight, (mis)adventures and speech. People don't expect anything serious in this kind of a film. Three Kings has resemblances with duo's last film. Viewers miss Suraj in the climax.

Through this film V.K Prakash has proved to be a consistent and successful commercial director. Three Kings will be a mega hit.

Entertainment value - Above average
