Review 1

Shaji Kailas and crew started to believe they can produce success if they fill it with girls.

He has lost pulse and so he is overdoing everything. Editing, camera movements, sound effects and all.

People who are going to watch take some cotton with them, so as to fill their ears. The sound effects are overdone to an extend that people feel their brains cracking.

Mohanlal is good and has done his job well. What can he do alone when all he technicians falters.

Mohanlal looks soo handsome in this film. The story of 'Red Chillies' is shrouded in mystery. Mohanlal plays lead character OMR, an affluent NRI who does oil business in Singapore. He also runs a FM radio station in Cochin. Though nothing much is known about the man he is brought into limelight when an accident on a New Year eve happened. Mohanlal operates from Singapore, and he lands him in Cochin in second half.

This film would have been done without red chillies. And who are these red chillies? It's a band in Kerala which has the caliber to get Grammy award, according to OMR.

Role done by Thilakan is good. Roles done by Siddique, Maniyan Pillai Raju and other actors are just being part of the game so as to make OMR a hero.

When people get out of theatre they won't even remember the face of any of these jockeys, or can aptly be called jokers. Parts done in Singapore and major resorts are good. There are lots of sycophants in this film for the character OMR, no one knows the reason.

A lot of unwanted characters are spread in each scene. The character OMR does everything but no one knows how. As these directors can't even satisfy viewers from their own state how can they think of making people outside satisfy.

The film is not very bad. It may run to 75 days in major canters and will be called a hit. The problem with this kind of films are they wont stay in peoples mind, nor viewers wont like to see again.

This film can be considered with Thandavam, Baba kalyani, Alibhai etc.

Review 2

Mohanlal is the most flexible actor and Shaji Kailas the most stylish director. But even a combo of both of them could not account for the flawed script from A K Sajan. The movie is overdosed with technology,be it in cinematography editing or in background score....

The biggest highlight of the movie is of course the Don OMR played by Mohanlal,And as usual Mohanlal delivers a brilliant performance.. He is handsome and stylish. Take Mohanlal away from the movie.. OMR is everything a first day first show Mohanlal fan needs from there icon. It seems his presence is the only factor that makes the movie watchable to some extent at least.

The flaws are numerous. Shaji's camera keeps shifting focus here and there (giving us the cinematographer was drunk) and we loose track of what is happening. And Samjith has increased the confusion with some very technical but highly unaesthetic editing. But they have been successful in hiding the absence of a storyline. Then there are the girls the band Red Chillies(resembles Mirchi Girls from the previous Shaji Kailas AK Sajan venture Chintamoni kolacase) all of them bad actors including the singer Renjini Jose who plays Anna Bella..These girls could be easily taken off the plot.. they dont do anything except add a bit glamor to the plot(actually there is no need for this either as Lal is too glamorous you wont notice the girls). Actors like Siddique,Thilakan etc are cast only to boost the hero image of Lal. Was happy to see Lal and Thilakan together but they don't share scene...

The movie is sure to be a hit coz there is everything a Lal fan wants.. But as a movie I personally dont like it. Mohanlal should not be doing such movie....I give RC 2/5
