Manthrikan is the upcoming Malayalam movie of Jayaram. Poonam Bajwa is the heroine. Anil directs the movie, screen play written by Rajan Kiriyath.

Manthrikan will be a comedy thriller with a horror background. The film started shooting. Jayaram appears as the 'Mantrikan'. Anand Kumar produces Manthrikan, under the banner Yes Cinema Company.

Manthrikan is shooting at Gundalpet and Kudak. Manthrikan is the story of Mukundan Unni, son of a wizard. Mukundan Unni is not interested in his fathers profession, so he takes up farming and buys a farm in Coorg. But due to unavoidable circumstances, he is forced to take up magic and how he manages it is the sole of the story.

Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Kottayam Nazeer, Mahesh and Ramesh Pisharady does other important roles. Suraj appears as a Muslim wizard, Umelu Ustad and Poonam Bajwa is Mukundan Unni’s love interest. Riyas Khan, Murali Mohan, Devan, Harikrishnan, Sadiq, Anil Murali, Lena, Radha Nair, Mini Arun, Mahima and Rekha are also in the cast.

Manthrikan will grace theatres later in 2012.
