Mammootty will play the lead role in the upcoming Lal movie titled 'Kobra'. It was earlier titled 'Kottayam Brothers'. But due to the similarity to the recent Mohanlal film 'Christian Brothers', Lal has changed his film title.

The film produced and directed by Lal under the banner of Lal Productions will be released in December as a X'mas film of Mammootty. The film will be released by Mammootty's PlayHouse.

Kobra will start shooting by August this year. The other cast and crew are to be finalized.

Lal has earlier directed Mammootty in 'Hitler' along with Siddique which was a super hit. Kobra will be his first directorial venture with Mammootty as hero.

After being separated from Siddique, Lal has concentrated more on acting. He returned to direction with '2 Harihar Nagar', which became a superhit, followed by 'In Ghost House Inn', both sequels to the film 'In Harihar Nagar', co-directed by Siddique-Lal.

Kobra is planned as a complete entertainer as the earlier Lal movies.
