Debutant director Anoop Kannan comes with a new Mammootty movie titled Jawan of Vellimala. The film is produced by Mammootty under the banner of PlayHouse. James Albert has written the story for the film.

Music is scored by Bijibal for the lyrics of Rafeeq Ahmed and Venugopal. Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer. Mamtha Mohandas play the female lead. Mammootty play the protagonist. Asif Ali, Sreenivasan, Sadiq, Baburaj, Kottayam Nazir, Jojo, Sunitha, Amith Layona, Sunil Sugatha are in the other roles.

Jawan of Vellimala tells the story of Gopikrishnan, a soldier who has taken voluntary retirement from service and takes up the job of a dam operator at high range village Vellimala. Varghese and Koshi Oommen are the other lead characters in this film. Mamta Mohandas play the role of a project officer at the Dam site.
