Ammukutty Ammayude Ajayan directed by Sathyan Anthikkad is a family entertainer with Mohanlal playing the leading role. Padmapriya and veteran actress Sheela play the female leads.

Ammukkuttiyammayude Ajayan is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner Aashirwad Cinemas. Mohanlal plays the role of a farmer, Ajayan, again in this new movie. In the movie Ividum Swargamanu also, he played the role of a farmer.

Ajayan has lived in many towns and cities, but decides to return and settle in the village as a farmer. He lives with his ageing mother Ammukutty Amma, played by Sheela. He is very close to his friends Manian, Mathai and Balachandran.

Manian (Ashokan) is a toddy tapper, while Mathai (Innocent) is a coconut merchant. Balachandran (Biju Menon) is a Sub Inspector in Police. Padmapriya plays the role of Sunanda, Ajayan’s lady love.

Biju Menon, Innocent, Ashokan and many other popular actors from Malayalam film industry play prominent roles in Ammukutty Ammayude Ajayan.

The film is shot in a village near Palakkad. Music is composed by Ilayaraja while camera is cranked by Venu.
