Marine Drive is the most beautiful part of Kochi and is built along the Vembanad lake.

Ernakulam -> Marine Drive

Marine Drive is considered to be one of the most beautiful part of Ernakulam city. Marine Drive is built facing backwaters and it is a popular hangout for the local population. It is also a bizzing shopping centre with lots of shopping malls.

The sunset and the cool breeze from the Vembanad lake makes a walk along the long Marine drive worth. Walk way is constructed along the Vemaband lake side. There is boating facility available in the Marine Drive. The walkway has two contemporarily constructed bridges, the Rainbow bridge and the Chinese Fishing Net Bridge.

The Marine Drive stretches from the Jankar Jetty in the north to the Ernakulam Boat Jetty in the south. The Public Ground at the Northern part of the Marine Drive is the preferred venue for major exhibitions, and more importantly political meetings that mark major landmarks in the Kerala political scene.

Broadway - narrow despite its name - running parallel to the east of Shanmugham Road is among the city's oldest and busiest shopping streets, where the best buys include clothes and spices. The main Ernakulam market is also located alongside Broadway.
