Chena Masala Fry - A
very tasty dish which goes well with rice and curd.

Ingredients:
Chena/Yam - 2 cup cubed
Pearl Onion - 1
Tamarind - pulp from a lemon sized
Coriander Seeds - 1 tbsp
Jeerakam (Cumin Seeds) - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Pepper - 1 1/2 tsp
Red chilly - 1 to 2
Salt to Taste
Oil - 1 tsp |

Method:
Boil and drain the chena,and keep aside.
Make a smooth paste of the puli, onion,
coriander seeds, peeper, jeerakam, turmeric powder, salt and red
chilly.
Apply the paste on to the chena so that
it coats it from all sides and leave it for 10 minutes.
Heat a saute pan and add oil. Once the
oil is hot add the chena.
Cover and cook for another 10 minutes. |
