 Vegetarian -> South Indian Vegetarian Recipes -> Cauliflower Stew

 


 

Cauliflower Stew is an ideal side dish for Appam or Chappathi.
 

Ingredients:

 

Cauliflower split into small flowers - 250 g

Onion (Big) cut into 4 pieces and separated - 2
Cloves, cardamom, cinnamon (Crushed) - 2 pieces each

Pepper crushed - 10 nos

Ginger sliced - 1 piece

Green Chilly split lengthwise - 4 nos

Ghee - 2 tsp

Coconut Milk - from 1/2 coconut

Curry Leaves - 2 stems

Salt - as required

 

For Frying:

Small onion sliced round - 6

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp

Pepper - 15 nos

Curry leaves - 1 stem

 

Cauliflower Stew

Method:

In a hard bottomed pan, add ghee and saute cauliflower, Onion, Cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, green chilly and ginger.

 

Add the third extract of coconut to this and boil. Add salt also.

 

When the curry starts thickening, add the second extract of coconut milk.

 

When this starts boiling, add the first extract of coconut.

 

Fry the ingredients mentioned for that and garnish it on the top of the stew.
