 Vegetarian -> Thoran Recipes -> Beetroot Thoran

 


 

Beetroot Thoran is a healthy crimson coloured thoran that would be highly relished by kids. An easy way to make them eat beetroot.

 

Ingredients:


Beetroot cut into small cubes - 400 gm
Onions chopped - 100 gm
Green chilli - 5gm
Ginger - 5 gm
Coconut oil - 30 ml
Curry leaves - 2 stalk
Mustard seeds - 5gm
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Red chilli - 1 tsp
Grated coconut - 1/2

Beetroot Thoran

Method:

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, add onion, chilli, ginger and curry leaves.


Add masala ( a pinch of red chillies,turmeric and salt).


Add grated beetroot, grated coconut and little water.


Cook over a low flame. Add some drops of oil at the end.
