Uzhunnu Vada - Very tasty and popular South Indian tea-time snack.

Ingredients:
Urdu dhal - 2 cups

Finely chopped shallots - 1/2 cup

Chopped green chilly - 1 dsp

Chopped Ginger - 2 tsp
Hing (Asafoetida) - 1/4 tsp
Salt as to taste

Method:
Wash and soak urdu dhal for 1 hour.
Grind it to a very smooth paste.
Add all the finely chopped items,
hing and salt. Mix well.
Make ball and make a hole in the
middle of the ball and fry.
Heat oil in a kadhai/wok and fry the
vadas in the oil.
Serve hot with sambar/chutney.
