This weekend seems to be a perfect week for Bollywood buffs. If there were lot of things to be specially mentioned about Madhur Bandharkar’s JAIL, APKGK just puts off your cognizance and makes it worth killing your time.

Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani has a simple storyline inspired from various Hindi and South Indian films…

A guy falls in love with a gorgeous girl, who hadn’t lived a happy life in her home. Unfortunately, the girl loves a NRI and our hero strives to unite the couple with a much predictable climax.

But then, presence of Ranbir Kapoor makes you forget that you’re watching a film that has been persistently made in Hindi Cinema. The chocolate guy is sure to win over the hearts of young cohorts. Though Katrina looks bit aged, she doesn’t make herself look so. Did you just understand what we said?

Fine! Let’s check out the film’s synopsis in brief and analyze the film on all aspects…

The film is about devil-may-care youngster Prem (Ranbir Kapoor) who has no ambitions in his life. He comes across a gorgeous Jenny (Katrina Kaif) and falls in love with her at first sight. It’s almost like the usual stuffs where both lad and missy are into pettifoggeries that later turns into friendship. Eventually, we get to know that she is already in love with a NRI guy Rahul (Upen Patel) and his father doesn’t approve of their marriage.

Post-intermission it’s all about the painstaking mission of Prem in uniting the couple with a predictable climax. Nearly before a decade, filmmaker Rajkumar Santhoshi had made a comedy entertainer ‘Andaz Apna Apna’ and later never switched into serious themes.

It’s a great surprise to have the director switching into an unparalleled show. No logics, only magic – this very funda keep APKGK on greater lines.

Ranbir Kapoor is cool and awesome. He just carries out his performance unstrained and surely he has a great way to go ahead. Katrina – The hottie keeps you transfixed with her looks and well in her role. Upen Patel doesn’t live up to expectations.

Musical score by Pritam is commendable while Thiru brings us eye-catching visuals with the rich backdrops.

On whole, APKGK would’ve been better if it had a gripping story (it’s okay even now)…
