The Institute is affiliated to the Mahatma Gandhi University. Owned and managed by the Government of Kerala, RIT aims at providing high quality education for talented students from all sections of the society.

The college provides a positive environment for the students to develop their potentials and to excel in all walks of life.

RIT being a Government Institution, admission is purely based on the basis of merit/rank obtained in the Engineering Entrance Examination conducted by the commissioner for Entrance Examination, Government of Kerala. There is no management quota/seats available in this institution.
