Kerala State Pharmacy Council



Kerala State Pharmacy Council is a statuatory body constituted by the Government of Kerala. The Kerala State Pharmacy Council, the successor body of the Kerala Pharmacy Registration Tribunal, was constituted by the State Government under section 19 of the Pharmacy Act 1948 and notified the same in the Official Gazette vide G.O.(Rt) 170/65/HLD dated, 6th May 1965.

Dr. V. R. Gopalakrishnan, Director of Health Services was elected President of the Council and the State Government appointed Sri. T. T. Joseph B.Pharm., (Drugs Inspector, Office of the Drugs Controller), as part-time Registrar in the place of Sri. D. Kumaran Nair.

Highlights Of The Functioning Of Kerala State Pharmacy Council:
* Registering the names of persons who have passed Diploma / Degree in Pharmacy from Institutions approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.

* Registration certificate and Identity Card will be issued to all Registered Pharmacists in the state of Kerala.

* Inspections are conducted in all places where drugs are prepared, compounded, mixed or dispensed, according to section 26 of the Pharmacy Act 1948.

* Seminars, Workshops, Public Meetings, Exhibitions etc. are conducted to educate the public about the role of Pharmacist in Health Care System.
