Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri

Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri is a noted Malayalam Poet, Lyrist, Music director who has written lyrics for some of the ever green songs of Malayalam films.

He is popularly known as Kaithapram is noted in other roles as an Actor, Singer, Screenwriter, Music Therapist and Great Performer of Carnatic Music.

He is son of a well known singer late Keshavan Namboothiri popularly known as Kannadi Bhagavathar. He has played the character of a Classic or Semi-Classic Singer/lyricsist in most of the films that he has acted.

Kaithapram has established a very loving position in the Malayali heart by his beautiful yet simple artistic renderings. He has written both prose and poems and his books are also widely accepted.

He has been continuously engaged in promoting music through Swathithirunal Kalakendra Trust, Thiruvannoor. A lot of young people are studying there and they will keep the flames of musical tradition burning bright.
