The spice land of Kerala, Beautiful high range district is geographically known for its mountainous hills and dense forests. A land-locked district, Idukki is one of the most nature rich areas of Kerala.

Munnar, Mattupetty, Echo Point, Eravikulam National Park, Top Station, Marayoor, Cheeyappara & Valara Water falls, Idukki Arch Dam, Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary, Hill View Park, Nadukani, Thommankuthu, Keezharkuthu, Thekkady, The Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Pandikuzhi, Pullumedu, Ramakalmedu, and Vagamon.
The district is accessible only by road. Rail and Air link are not available. National Highway NH 49 and State highgway 13 and 33 pass through the district. There are also a number of places like Edamalakudy which are not accessible even by Roads.
