Devaswom Board College, Sasthamcotta was established in 1964 by the honourable Travancore Devaswam Board. It stands unique as an institution of excellence in higher education in a rural area of the Kollam district in Kerala.

This temple of higher education, situated in a landscape surrounded by the fresh-water lake and blessed and protected by the Lord Dharma Sastha, is an ideal place for learning.

The college offers three year Under-Graduate courses in 13 disciplines and six Post Graduate courses of four semester duration. Now, the college provides facility for higher studies to more than 2000 students. This college celebrated its Silver Jubilee during the academic year 1989-90. The strength of teaching staff is 97 and that of non teaching staff is 56.
