Bishop Moore College, a premier educational institution at Mavelikara in Alappuzha district of Kerala was started in 1964 as a junior college offering two years pre-degree course of the University of Kerala.

The University of Kerala sanctioned under graduate courses in 1968 and the first post graduate course was started in 1982. With the de-linking of pre-degree in 2000, the college now offers 10 undergraduate and 3 postgraduate programmes. The college was accredited B++ grade by the NAAC in 2004.

The college is situated in a rural area in Mavelikara about 2 k.m. from the heart of the town and 0.5 k.m. from the railway station. The surroundings of the college is spread with well maintained gardens and buildings, Hostels, Auditorium, conference hall, computer centre, book stall, Principal’s quarters, women’s centre, counselling centre, green house, museum, play ground and stadium, multi gym, canteen and the like.
